Yes! We offer “shadow days” for your child to experience a day in the life of a Summit student. Schedule your tour.
Summit Christian School is graciously hosted on the campus of Grace Bible Church. While some of our families may attend this church, the school and the church are operated separately and autonomously. Families at Summit attend churches all over the Sacramento metro area, which makes for a truly inter-denominational community representative of the body of Christ.
Summit has an established uniform policy for all students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. The following is a generalized explanation of our uniform code. More details are available in the student/parent handbook, available on RENWEB.
GIRLS’ Uniform Requirements:
Shirts – Collared polo shirts are permitted (long or short sleeved) in school colors (navy blue, light blue, white, yellow) as well as “Summit Wear” shirts.
Pants – Khaki or navy blue shorts or “jean” shorts, skirts and jumpers are acceptable.
BOYS’ Uniform Requirements:
Shirts – Collared polo shirts are permitted (long or short sleeved) in school colors (navy, white, light blue, yellow) as well as “Summit Wear” shirts.
Pants – Khaki, navy blue and blue denim pants are permitted.
Shorts- Khaki, navy blue, and “jean” shorts are acceptable.
Uniforms may be purchased from any store as long as they meet the above requirements.
Summit offers a full-day Kindergarten program to provide more opportunities to develop both academic and social skills in the students. The longer day offers a more relaxed atmosphere for learning, while allowing the teacher to provide individualized attention to meet the academic needs of each student. A full-day program also allows for more enrichment activities, such as field trips, art and music not often found in half-day programs. Check out a schedule of a typical day in Kindergarten. The students adapt well to the full day and have a quiet time after lunch to help with the transition. The free play time at the end of the day is important in developing social skills like teamwork, cooperation, sharing and conflict resolution.
